Ōmana Beach

Ōmana Beach is a community and beach between Maraetai and Ōmana Regional Park on Auckland’s Pōhutukawa Coast. The beach is 700 metres long and beautiful with white and gold-tinged sand. It extends from the east end of the regional park across the front of a well-established residential area to a rocky point that separates it from Te Pene Beach. There is also a rocky area about a third of the way along the beach heading east.

Access to the beach is easy. It is a short walk from the regional park's central car park and barbecue area at the west end. A shared path is part of the Beachlands to Maraetai Walkway and runs between the beach and Ōmana Esplanade. Access is from Omana Beach Road, off Maraetai Drive. Parking is restricted at the west end of Ōmana Esplanade, but there is more parking in front of a reserve and playground about 300 metres along the road.

Outside of summer weekends, the section inside the park will generally be quieter, although the whole beach is notably less busy than Maraetai Beach. It is safe for swimming, but water quality can be affected during summer. You can check Swim Safe before visiting.
