Exploring Mairangi Bay Beach

Mairangi Bay Beach, located on the North Shore of Auckland, is a delightful spot for a day by the sea. Known for its golden sands, this beach is on the North Shore Coastal Walk, also a section of Te Araroa. While it may not be as visually striking as nearby Campbells Bay, Mairangi Bay is safe for swimming, making it an excellent choice for families. The presence of a surf club, which sets up flags to guide swimmers, adds an extra layer of safety.

Beachside Reserve and Nearby Amenities

The beach is bordered by a reserve, providing a less suburban feel than most other North Shore beaches. Just two blocks from the beach, you'll find the town centre, which is easily accessible on foot. Here, you can explore local cafés and shops, making it convenient to grab a bite or enjoy some shopping after a swim.

How to Get There

From Downtown Auckland, take the northern motorway to the Constellation Drive off-ramp, then head east on Constellation Drive. Veer left onto East Coast Road, then shortly after, turn right onto Maxwelton Street, which becomes Rangitata Terrace. Turn north onto Beach Road, then right onto Montose Terrace and park beside the beach.

Following the North Shore Coastal Walk north, you will reach Murrays Bay, Tatarata Point and Rothesay Bay. To the south is Campbells Bay and Red Bluff.
