Rothesay Bay is a suburb and modest but attractive beach between Murrays Bay to the south and Browns Bay to the north on the east coast of the North Shore of Auckland. You can access the beach on Rothesay Bay Road via a reserve. Or you can walk in from Churchill Reserve, along the coast below the cliffs on the North Shore Coastal Walk / Te Araroa, from Murrays Bay. The cliffs on this section of the walk are spectacular.
The bay is another example of a pretty northeast coast Hauraki Gulf beach. The Gulf's enclosure makes for little surf and safe swimming. As with the other nearby beaches, there is plenty of orange and gold in the sand.
