Red Bluff on the North Shore Coastal Walk

Red Bluff, located on the North Shore of Auckland, just south of Campbells Bay, is a striking rocky shelf known for its reddish-orange hue. This spot, with views of Rangitoto, is particularly popular for fishing and photography, especially during the golden hour when the light enhances its vibrant colours.

Distinctive Rock Formations

The North Shore Coastal Walk, also a section of Te Araroa, showcases a variety of rock formations and cliffs. Red Bluff stands out with its unique colour and appearance, contrasting with the eroding cliffs found to the south near Rahopara Point and Kennedy Park. As you continue north along the walk, you'll notice the cliffs and rocky foreshore changing in both colour and shape, providing a dynamic landscape.

How to Get There

To reach Red Bluff, the easiest access is via the North Shore Coastal Walk. You can start from Kennedy Park, with steps down the side of the cliff, then walk north along the coast, or walk south along the coast from Campbells Bay. Red Bluff is best visited at low tide.

Further south on the coastal walk, you can discover Milford Beach, and to the north is Mairangi Bay.
