Exploring Thorne Bay Beach
Thorne Bay Beach is a charming spot nestled between Takapuna Beach to the south and Milford Beach to the north on the North Shore of Auckland. This small, golden sand beach is part of the North Shore Coastal Walk, also a section of Te Araroa, and offers a delightful place for a swim or relaxation. Its rocky coastlines provide a natural barrier at both ends. On sunny days, the beach can become quite crowded due to its appeal.
A Secluded Beach with Limited Access
Thorne Bay Beach is backed by private houses, and there is no public access through these properties. The only way to reach this secluded beach is by following the coastal walkway, which adds to its charm and exclusivity.
How to Get There
To visit Thorne Bay Beach, start your journey on the North Shore Coastal Walk at the north end of Takapuna Beach or the south end of Milford Beach. Allow about 20 minutes from either end.
Nearby, you can also explore Takapuna Beach, Fossil Point, Milford Beach and the Milford Marina.
