Hooks Bay is a small, beautiful bay on the northeast side of Waiheke Island. You can walk to the bay from Stony Batter on the Hooks Bay Track.
As you approach the bay, you will have a fabulous beach view to the north, with orange-coloured sand. The colour comes from the intense gold and orange rocks and cliffs at either end of the bay. As the tide goes out, you can walk around the rocks below the cliffs at the southeast end. These rocks are also incredibly picturesque and include a small cave.
The bay is perfect for swimming and a picnic, but no camping is permitted.
