The Auckland suburb of Bayswater can be accessed by ferry from Downtown Auckland; service is half-hourly during peak times and hourly off-peak. The main attractions are the marina, an adjacent park, and views towards the Harbour Bridge and Downtown Auckland. The marina faces west, so it is beautiful at golden hour.
A walkway to Devonport also avoids some of the suburban streets, but it’s not particularly compelling unless you are looking for some extra steps.
