Exploring the Beveridge Track in the Waitākere Ranges

The Beveridge Track is nestled in the Waitākere Ranges, a stunning area located in Auckland. This track begins at the Arataki Visitor Centre on Scenic Drive. It initially runs east along the ridge below the road before turning south to connect with Exhibition Drive near its southern gate.

A Scenic Walk Through Native Forest

The Beveridge Track offers an easy walk through regenerating native forest, featuring some majestic kauri trees. Springtime is particularly beautiful, with the rewarewa trees in bloom. The track provides excellent views over the Lower Nihotupu Reservoir, with the Manukau Harbour visible in the distance. This makes it an ideal spot for a quick walk to enjoy the scenery.

Walking Options and Duration

Visitors can choose to return the same way after reaching Exhibition Drive or continue along Exhibition Drive. From there, you can take Pipeline Road to loop back to Arataki via the Slip Track. The return walk on the Beveridge Track takes about 90 minutes at a leisurely pace. If you opt for the loop including Pipeline Road and the Slip Track, allow approximately 2.5 hours.

To access the Beveridge Track, head to the Arataki Visitor Centre on Scenic Drive in the Waitākere Ranges. This serves as the starting point for the track and provides convenient access to the surrounding natural beauty.
