Winstone Cove

North Auckland

If you follow the coast north from Waiake Beach, Torbay, between the point and The Tor at low tide, you can easily access Winstone Cove. This is a mostly rocky cove, shrouded by cliffs lined with pōhutukawa, with small sandy beaches. It is more separated from the city suburbs than the other bays and beaches on the North Shore Coastal Walk / Te Araroa, making you less likely to have a crowd.

From there, you can continue around Toroa Point to Long Bay Regional Park at low tide. Gray Cresent provides road access to the cove.
