An Unnamed Beach in Golden Bay
Located in Golden Bay, north of Collingwood, lies a stretch of coastline that might puzzle you with its place names. This 4 km beach, found between Taimatea Point (also known as the hamlet of Waikato) and Tomatea Point (or the hamlet of Pakawau), is a coastal gem. Although it lacks an official name, it is referred to as Pakawau Beach on Google Maps. This beach is perfect for those seeking a beautiful but quiet spot.
Beach Features and Scenery
When you visit this beach, you'll notice the sand has a distinctive golden hue, which is beautifully complemented by the scattered driftwood along the shore. The contrast between the sand and driftwood creates a picturesque scene, especially when the weather is clear.
