Passing Cooks Beach towards Ferry Landing, you will see a sign to Shakespeare Cliff. Enter the reserve, drive up the metal road, and park at the top. It is a very short walk to a platform with a 270-degree view over Mercury Bay.
Looking south, you can see Cooks Beach and very pretty Lonely Bay (in the foreground). To the southeast is the Pacific Ocean, and to the northeast is the continuation of the peninsula. A cairn records the 1769 visit of Captain Cook in the HMS Endeavour.
You can access other tracks from the car park through the reserve, including a walk down to stunning Lonely Bay.
