Saddle Road in the Manawatū connects Ashurst on the west side of the Ruahine range to Woodville on the east side. After visiting the stunning Manawatū Gorge, head north through Ashurst, then east through the Ruahine Forest Park via Saddle Road.
The road climbs 250 metres above the flats and is a spectacular windy drive through farmland and the Te Apiti wind farm. As you approach the top, you can enjoy a fantastic viewpoint within the wind farm.
