Track Description
The Ōkārito Trig Track begins at the intersection of the Three Mile Pack Track and the Wetland Walk. As you start on the Wetland Walk from either end, you'll soon join the Pack Track, which leads into the coastal forest. After approximately 500 metres, the Trig Track branches off and ascends to a high point of 158 metres over the course of a kilometre. The walk is straightforward and rewards you with stunning views along the coast.
How to get there
To reach the Ōkārito Trig Track, head to the Three Mile Pack Track in Westland. You can start your journey on the Wetland Walk from either end, which will guide you to the intersection where the Pack Track begins. From there, follow the Pack Track into the coastal forest until you reach the Trig Track. This area is a great starting point for exploring the natural beauty of Westland, with its diverse landscapes and breathtaking views.
