You can reach beautiful Homunga Bay by continuing on the walking track from Orokawa Bay past William Wright Falls, but it will be a four-hour round trip.
Another option is to drive from Waihi down Golden Valley Rd, then left into Ngatitangata Rd until you reach a parking area next to the access track sign. Then the walk is steeply downhill for about 45 minutes, through farmland, then bush, to the beach. This is a beautiful, relatively remote place. Do it if you have the time.
