At the south end of Waihi Beach, after it turns into Ocean Beach, is the Bowentown Heads. You can drive to the top for views to the south over Anzac Bay, Matakana Island and Maunganui Beach and then hike to a high point for a view north over Waihi Beach. It is also a nice place to hang out and have a picnic.
But the best thing to do is to walk down the steep steps to the small beach, next to Papatu Point, at the cliff's base on the east side of the parking area.
